Father Twomey in Vatican News

The Holy See's news website reprints my L'Osservatore essay—in English!

Well, this was a lovely way to start my Martin Luther King Day! Vatican News today ran my L’Osservatore Romano article on Father Louis J. Twomey, S.J., in the original English, enabling Anglophone readers throughout the world to learn about the Jesuit’s friendship with Dr. King.

My joy in seeing my article in Vatican News was marred by my realizing I’d mistranscribed one of King’s quotes. I’ve sent a correction to Vatican News and hopefully it will be fixed soon. The quote I bungled was the one that begins with “I am tired.” It should read, “I am tired, but I always find time to follow Father's suggestions." Thankfully, I did manage to catch the error in time for the correct quote to appear in my upcoming America feature on Father Twomey, to which I’ll post a link here as soon as it goes live.
